Dream Studio

 

In The Douglas Purnell Foundation, the primary focus of the Dream Studio will be on music production and engineering. Not only will the participants get the opportunity interact musically, but they will be provided an opening to learn concepts of the creation and production of music recordings and how to successfully complete recording projects that are typical of those found in contemporary recordings in production environments.  

 

Through classroom emphasis on artistic and professional excellence,  exposure will:

 

• Develop an informed and critical aesthetic vision

• Learn to define quality using both musical and technical criteria and to apply those criteria your work and to the work of others

• Work effectively with others in the wide range of circumstances typically found in the recording and production professions through participation as engineer and producer on various projects, and by interacting effectively with musicians on these projects

• Gain knowledge of the principles and creative practices of engineering and production techniques

 

With this knowledge, participants will be prepared to enter the contemporary music production field as a student to further their own personal education or professional gain.
